Our Philosophy
The ancient Greek philosopher Socrates posed the question: What ought one to do?
- Fundamentally, we believe we ought to act in our client’s best interests at all times.
- We consider that businesses generally operate within either a market or a profession.
- Businesses that operate within a market sell products and services to the market place for a profit… their own profit. They satisfy demand or want from their market.
- Operating within a profession however involves subordinating our own interests to those of our customers or clients.
As a business that operates within a profession, we believe we must act in our client’s best interest first, serve the interests of profession second and ourselves last. This philosophy may seem very selfless and perhaps counter intuitive to running a successful business. We recognize however that our business is built on:
- Our reputation
- Lifelong relationships with our clients
- The quality of our people
Each of these ingredients, we believe, are best maintained through our basic philosophy of acting in the best interests of our clients at all times.
Our Values
- Integrity - to know what is the ‘right thing to do’, to be honest and truthful with ourselves and with our clients at all times.
- Courage - to make sure we act upon our integrity, even when it may be difficult or unpopular to do so.
- Trust - to act in a way that builds our client’s trust in us and to trust ourselves and our abilities when dealing with our clients.
- Enjoyment - to create an environment where our people grow and enjoy coming to work each day and our clients enjoy dealing with us.
